Question 5: Getting more readers and subscribers
Q: Robyn
I only have 4 actual subscribers to my blog yet I get comments and
daily visitors...what can I do to increase these numbers?
A: Lisha
It is cool to get subscribers, but the number one thing is visitors. How many people are coming to your blog. That is what is important. That your numbers continue to rise and that they don't fall (there are ups and downs, but as long as the ups outweigh the downs, that's the important thing).
I need to tell you a little secret. No, it's not really a secret. I am telling everyone who asks me how to get more traffic is to use Twitter. It is by far the best traffic getter I have run across. But, I am very present on Twitter, that's why it works for me. You have to Tweet. You have to interact with people on Twitter (which I see that you do). You have to tweet good valuable tweets and you have to tweet about your blog posts. You can also simply tweet that you want or need more blog subscribers if that's what you want. In a typical 24 hour period, I tweet at least 6 good tweets that will offer value to my followers (usually inspirational quotes), and I also tweet 6 tweets about my blog. I also retweet my followers tweets (the best ones I can find on their page), and I reply to Tweets. You can do whatever you want, but you really need to offer value to your followers so that they pay attention to your tweets, and build rapport/relationships with your followers.
You also have to work on getting more followers every day. It is a slow and steady climb, so every day you should follow more relevant people on twitter and then some of those people will follow you back. Figure out someone who is a popular public figure in your niche (like Diane Von Furstenberg, she is @DVF on twitter). Then follow their followers. Then some of those people will follow you back. Eventually you will have to unfollow people who have not followed you back because of Twitter's follower/following ratio rule.
If you haven't read my Twitter guide yet, you have to do so (It's on my fan welcome landing page on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/blogandretire)
Here is an article about subscribers "readers" by Problogger so you can better understand how it works. Long story short, you may have more than 4 subscribers, it's just that only 4 of your subscribers have actually read your blog post on that specific day. It's complicated, yet very simple, read this post:

Question 6: ClickBank
Q: Robyn
ClickBank...not sure which product categories would work best with
my blog...I've been researching various categories...like beauty and
health...there are no fashion, or trend oriented categories...trying
to think outside the box on this one so that I can begin linking...
A: Lisha
When using clickbank, you are stuck with the options available to clickbank. Since you are having trouble finding relevant products to promote from Clickbank, this makes it even more important for you to create your own product (free and for sale). Writing ebooks is super easy and there is no physical product so you don't have to worry about that extra cost, or worry about shipping. Or, create a membership that people can join monthly to get fashion tips and advice from you. Or a service where you can help people choose their outfit for the day, or for specific events. There are plenty of options for you. That is my best advice for you on that. :)
